This is a very successful sculpture in terms of technique and reflecting my theme and intentions closely and effectively. I used the same method as before to create this base, and used extra mod roc around the ankle area to ensure there is not too much movement away from the base. Especially with the angle this sculpture is protruding out of the base at. I have managed to paint over the top of the wire poking out of the neck of the sculpture which works really well for this particular piece.
‘The Dejected’ is a direct reflection of the meaning to be discarded, downcast, to feel the lowest of low. I felt this represented the posture the closest and the colour, although it is dark, is more of a natural green. One you would find in the trees, or the mossy area of a lake. There is a link to nature and feeling dejected to me that resonated a lot with this particular sculpture and links my intentions and actions together in a very effective way. This piece is successful and shows the links I am making to the titles, colours, and postures, everything is thought out and planned to come together cohesively.
