‘The Indecisive‘ is intentionally one of my smaller sculptures in this project, as this emphasises the panic and inner turmoil that is associated with being indecisive and being unable to plan ahead, think of the future, understand time limits, etc. To be indecisive is seen as dithering, being weaker than others, being uncommitted and therefore people believing you don’t care. Causing people to put time restraints on themselves in hopes of satisfying others needs, but ultimately causing a state of constant anxiety on themselves.
The posture here is hunched, lower to the ground, thinner ankles, sat down with their legs firmly planted on the ‘floor’. They have lost the free nature of their body previously and are now rigid, unmoving, frozen, trapped inside their own thoughts and mindset. The ankles being so thin gives the impression they are rooted in place in their state of hyper self awareness. Unable to be moved or manipulated in any way other than what they are already doing to themselves mentally with the pressure of others expectations.
